Not-so-sunny Saturday

We went to the Farmer's Market yesterday and were so thrilled to load up our bags with fresh produce and herbal plants for the garden.  The sky was sunny and the day was delightful.

And then 15 minutes into the trip, this hit:

We didn't even see it coming.  It just hit!  The nerve!  So we ate some BBQ, watched it splatter on the ground for a bit, and made a run to the car.  It was still a splendid Saturday, despite our shopping trip being cut short and our umbrella being in the car when we needed it.

What better way to kick off Summer's officiality than with an icy, yummy, sticky snow cone?  Look how cool this girl is who opened up her very own little snow cone stand, Fresher than Fresh.  AND they are 100% natural with lots of yummy flavors.  Hurray for no artificiality!

I am so (so!) happy to be spending this Friday evening with 

my sweet handsome boy + some homemade martinis.

On the agenda for tomorrow: gardening!  

Yard work, flower pots, soil, and hoes -- these are fairly new concepts for me.  Should make for an interesting day.  I am excited to put my cute gardening gloves to use.  But, like, do I have to, uh, like get them dirty? ;)

Yep, I grow my own dandelions.

Morning Start

Today I read Dr. Oz's 25 Greatest Health Tips.  One particularly brilliant idea stood out to me.  While mentioning the importance of getting enough sleep regularly, he stated what he does:

"Conan and Dave are funny, but they're not worth the strain on your system . . . I record the later shows and watch them the next day as I pedal a stationary bike."

Isn't that a bit ingeniuos?  What a great way to catch up on news, start the day off with some humor, get your blood pumping bright & early, and maybe even catch a good musical performance.  All before 8 a.m.  Yes, please.
