a quote.

I am the master of my fate:
I am the captain of my soul.

{William Ernest Henley}

"Life is filled with so many exciting twists and turns. Hop
off the straight and narrow whenever you can and take the
winding paths. Experience the exhilaration of the view from
the edge. Because the moments spent there, that take your
breath away, are what make you feel truly alive."

growth

"What we perceive as a failure
may simply be our inner being's
way of telling us that we are ready
to move to a new level of growth."

"Although there may be
nothing new under the sun,
what is old is new to us
and so rich and astonishing
that we never tire of it.

If we do tire of it,
if we lose our curiosity,
we have lost something
of infinite value,
because to a high degree
it is curiosity that gives
meaning and savour to life."

there ought to be as many for love."

Rowdy Kittens

Lately I have become quite intrigued with simple, minimalist ways of living.  I love some of my stuff way too much to ever be a true minimalist, but I find certain aspects of it appealing.  This site, Rowdy Kittens, is interesting and inspirational.  Surviving without a car sounds idyllic to me and who doesn't love to declutter?  Vagabonding?  Practicing relaxation as an art?  I am all about that.

From the site:
“Be Content with what you have; rejoice in the way things are. When you realize there is nothing lacking, the whole world belongs to you.” –Lao Tzu

My Movie Review

"You mustn't be afraid to
dream a little bigger, darling."

I pulled this quote from the movie, Inception.  Have you seen it yet?  I won't say too much about it, but if you have not yet seen it, you should.  It’s exciting & funny & philosophical & confusing & romantic & thrilling & thought-provoking & entertaining & I want to see it again.  And that's my movie review.

You shall above all things be glad and young.

For if you're young, whatever life you wear

It will become you; and if you are glad

Whatever's living will yourself become.

(the sweetest thing)

Piglet sidled up to Pooh from behind.
"Pooh," he whispered.
"Yes, Piglet?"
"Nothing," said Piglet, taking Pooh's paw,
"I just wanted to be sure of you."

Said William Osler. . .

not to get what we can from life."
