What to Wear?

It's only 10am, but I am already plotting an attack on the mall tonight. With a trip to NYC set for this weekend, I am on the prowl for something fun to wear for a (much needed) night out in the big city. Here are some potentials I will be searching for. What do you think I should wear???

I love this 3.1 Phillip Lim fringe dress from StandardStyle. Unfortunately it is all the way in Kansas City, so I won't be purchasing this particular one. Hopefully I can find one similar though because it is oh-so-fun.

I'm a sucker for anything this color. There is definitely an Express nearby, so this skirt is an option...not quite as flavorful as the fringe dress though.

You can't go wrong with a purchase from Forever21, particularly if you are looking for something you may only wear a few times. Chances are good that the item will fall apart if you wear it more than twice and/or wash it. Still, I am willing to blow a mere $19.80 to wear this dress for a night. My only predicament: is it too daytime?

I like the idea of dressy black shorts like these. Sleek and stylish, yet more comfortable than a mini.

I have zero glitter in my closet, which is a bit of a tragedy. If there is one place glitter is appropriate, that would be New York City. This skirt is from erynbrinie.com.

OR I could keep the outfit simple and add some exquisite head decor.

These are the looks I am venturing to find. Any input is greatly appreciated!

Wedding Season? Bingo.

We've all heard the tune that says Christmas is the most wonderful time of the year. And maybe that's true. Or maybe it's false. I think Spring is in the running as well. How could anyone not love this time of year? Minus the fact that it has been raining for 100 years in Rhode Island, spring/summer is the absolute best. Birds are chirping, flowers are blossoming, and kids are frolicking in the fields. But more importantly, cute little lovers are getting hitched!

With no ring on this pretty little finger of mine, I can still fantasize that my wedding/marriage will indeed be the fairy tale we ladies dream to be true. Sure, our present-day society has sort of fucked up marriage's image, but I am still a believer. And because I am a huge fan, wedding season makes spring that much more better!! [Yes, I just said more better.]

And that's not all. This is my first Spring as a blogger. And holy cow, the world of blogging makes wedding season that much more glorious! Here are a few favorites I have come across.

This wedding in Palm Springs looks so fun. They managed to keep the look of it very nice, yet with a light-hearted feel to it. I think it's adorable!

[how awesome are the flower girls' dresses]

Look how cute these pictures are:

And did you hear about this? I wouldn't opt for a circus wedding, but would love to attend one! They pulled it off quite nicely.

I attended a wedding last week where they had a s'mores table. It was a very elegant wedding, with a few non-traditional touches thrown in.

[the centerpieces were so pretty]

So although my fondness for wedding season has a different motive than the fellas' from The Wedding Crashers, I think its best to end with a quote from them:

Jeremy: What do you like better, Christmas or Wedding Season?
John: Mr. Grey?
Jeremy: Yes. The answer would be, um, Wedding Season?
John: Bingo!

Good answer, Jeremy.

On the Brightside, I Get to Use my Umbrella

The weather is wack. Blame it on el nino, global warming, armageddon, or your local meteorologist, but 2 weeks of rain in June is not typical. Fortunately, I see it as an opportunity to use my cute umbrella.

[This one isn't mine, but it is quite cute as well.]
